Fans are furious at 'To All the Boys...' actor Noah Centineo after he tweeted in support of Logan Paul

BEFORE 2018, MANY of us were lucky in that we had absolutely no idea who Logan Paul was.
That all changed on the 3rd of January when the 23-year-old Youtuber made international headlines for posting videos of him taking the piss out of dead bodies in Japan’s ‘suicide forest’. A year has passed since then, and honestly? Logan’s behaviour hasn’t really improved much since then. Less than a week ago, he added homophobia to his rap sheet of stupid mistakes, when he joked that he was going to “go gay for a month”.
Out of either a complete lack of self awareness or out of just knowing that everyone would go mad and give him the attention he desperately craves, Logan Paul reflected on 2018 in a tweet:
Along with this tweet, he uploaded a psuedo-inspirational video in which he said that in 2019, he’s going to focus on empathy and “being aware of people, just beyond yourself.” Judging by the “gay for a month” comment, he’s not had a great start.
Anyway, To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before actor Noah Centineo stumbled across the tweet more than a fortnight later, and decided to show Logan some support, in a tweet that has since been deleted. Centineo wrote:
Lara Jean Covey would be disgusted if she could see that, tbh.
Many of Centineo’s fans vocalised their disappointment, asking him to reflect on what he had just said. One young woman wrote, “Logan Paul didn’t grow at all. I respect you a ton, but this is pretty disheartening”, while another said “You defended Logan then deleted it? Yoo, grow some fkn balls man.”
Another fan received 1,200 likes on a tweet in which they said, “Noah Centineo is trash for supporting Logan Paul, a man who is racist, homophobic and laughed at suicide victims while recording them for Youtube views. Noah Centineo damn well KNOWS how awful Logan is, yet still chose to openly support him.”
Meanwhile, on other parts of the internet, people are trying to make a more balanced analysis of Centineo’s statement. Refinery29 suggested that Noah’s tweet was “not exactly a defense of Paul’s actions, more a hope that change is possible.” They reached out to Noah for comment to try and clear things up, and have yet to receive a response.
As one of the angry fans put it, Logan has not demonstrated any actual growth in his character since he visited the ‘suicide forest’, because a month later, he was uploading videos of himself tasering dead rats. So, what exactly does Noah Centineo expect us to learn from here?
